Marriage License Requirements for California |
- Both partners must be 18 years or older, be present and have valid picture identification
- Need to know parents full birth names, including mother’s maiden name and state or country of birth
- Date of dissolution of most recent previous marriage; if divorce within 90 days, you must bring divorce papers
- No blood test required
- You do not have to be a California resident to marry in California
- There is no waiting period between receipt of a marriage license and the ceremony
- Minors, emancipated minors included, cannot be licensed to marry in California without a parent's written consent and a Superior Court Order
- Tahoe Chapel of the Bells will issue a marriage license if all above requirements are met

Marriage License Requirements for Nevada |
- No blood test.
- No waiting period.
- Marriage License Fee is $60.00. Fee does not include
a certified copy of the marriage certificate which is available
for an additional $15.00. Fee is payable by cash,
cashiers check, money order, Visa or Mastercard. Applications
are good for one year.
- Both parties must present themselves at one of the Douglas
County Clerk’s Offices.

- Adults 18 and older; parental consent not needed but proof
of age is required.
- 17 years old; consent from parent or legal guardian required
along with court order authorizing marriage of minor.
- Witness other than minister required at marriage ceremony.
- Previously divorced, divorce must be final where granted.
Date, city and state where divorce occurred required, but
it’s not necessary to furnish divorce papers.
- Out-of-country, the same rules apply to
you, nothing additional is required to marry. You do not
need a marriage license from your country. Driver’s
license, passport, acceptable for identification.

Domestic Partner Registry Requirements for California
|
- Both partners must be 18 years or older and be present
- Valid picture identification of couple
- Both persons are members of the same sex, OR one or both of the persons of opposite sex are over the age of 62 years old, then you may be eligible to register a domestic partnership with the Secretary of State
- No blood test required
- There is no waiting period between receipt of Declaration of Domestic Partnership and the ceremony
- Neither person is married to someone else or is a member of another domestic partnership with someone else that has not been terminated, dissolved, or adjudged a nullity
- Both persons are not related by blood in a way
- Tahoe Chapel of the Bells will issue and notorize the California Declaration of Domestic Partnership if all above requirements are met

Domestic Partner Registry Requirements for Nevada |
- Both parties must be at least 18 years of age
- Both parties are competent to consent to the partnership
- The two parties are not related by blood in a way that would prevent them from being legally married to each other in Nevada
- Neither party is married or a member of another domestic partnership, except to or with each other in another jurisdiction
- Both parties share a common resident
- Both parties sign a declaration that they have chosen to share one another's lives in an intimate and committed relationship of mutual caring
- Both parties desire of their own free will to enter into a domestic partnership
- Tahoe Chapel of the Bells will issue and notorize the Nevada Declaration of Domestic Partnership if all about requirements are met
